Apple iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display now official

Apple announced the new retina display iPad Air and iPad Mini at the Apple event. CEO, Tim Cook said at the event “Apple has sold 170 million iPads making it one of the most successful products in Apple’s history”.

Let’s have a quick look at the specs:

  • 20% thinner that previous full size iPad
  • 43% thinner bezel
  • Very light at just 1 pound making it the lightest tablet in the world
  • M7 motion coprocessor
  • Powered by 64 bit A7 chip
  • Graphics performance doubled than previous model
  • 72 times faster thatn original iPad
  • 5MP camera that can shoota a HD video
  • Better front facing FaceTime camera
  • Dual microphone and Siri
  • 10 hour battery life remains the same
  • Available in Silver/White and Black/Space grey
  • Priced at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $629 for the cellular model

iPad Air will be available in a lot of countries including China on November 1st.

  • It is a 7.9 retina display model
  • Runs on 64 bit with Apple’s A7 chip
  • 4 times fater CPU performance
  • Graphics are 8 times faster than before
  • Features a 5MP camera
  • Improved front facing FaceTime camera
  • 10 hours of battery life remains the same
  • Will be available for $399 for 16 GB Wi-Fi model and $529 for the cellular version. The 128GB configuration model is priced at $699.
  • Available in Silver/White and Black/Space grey

iPad Mini will hit the market by late November.
